Argentine Tango Beginner Class

Tango is a dance of connection and improvisation, rooted in tradition yet alive with every step. It’s not about learning step patterns but about feeling the music, finding balance, connecting, listening and moving as one with a dance partner. In this group class series, we’ll explore the essentials of Tango technique, posture, and the art of listening – to build a strong foundation for the dance.
The classes cover both open and close embrace, helping dancers feel at ease in any social dance setting. Alongside the fundamentals, you’ll learn the customs and codes of the tango world, the details that transform a dance into a conversation.
Every Wednesday evening from 8 to 9 PM at LibreDance Studio in Newport News, the studio becomes a space for discovery and practice. The classes are geared toward beginners but welcome anyone who wants to refine their understanding of the dance.
